THE TRACOPA BUS.

Take a taxi from San José International Airport to the Tracopa Bus Terminal in San José. Locate Transportes Tracopa Public bus transportation from Tracopa bus terminal. Tickets are approximately $8 per person one-way to the Quepos/Manuel Antonio Bus Terminal. There is no boarding at San José Airport; only at the Tracopa Bus terminal.

The Directo(d) Bus schedule is listed above. The price is around $8, you can pay in dollars or in colones. It will take a little over 3 hours to get to Quepos/Manuel Antonio from San José. There are Colectivo(c) buses that will take about an hour longer, cost a little less, and are more frequent in the day. Be sure to keep your belongings in sight until the bus driver puts them in the storage under the bus. He will give you a claim ticket.

THE MANUEL ANTONIO/QUEPOS LOCAL BUS.

The Manuel Antonio bus schedule from Quepos to Manuel Antonio Beach begins at 5:45 am, then 6:45 am, then every hour and half hour from 7:00 am-7:00 pm. The cost is 285 colones (or about 60 cents). In the evenings they run every hour from 7:00 pm, 8:00 pm, and 9:30 pm. Buses leave Manuel Antonio National Park and the main public beach from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm on the hour and 25-30 minutes after the hour. They also leave the park at 7:30 pm, 8:30 pm, and 10 pm. The full travel time from Quepos to the beach is about 25 minutes depending on the time of day and the time of year. There is a separate bus that periodically runs to Biesanz Beach and back instead of the main beach and back for 285 colones. It will have a sign for Biesanz Beach in the front windshield. It does NOT go to Manuel Antonio National Park and main public beach.
